wrote his works upon being inspired by his own heart, and to the heart do
these brief paragraphs that form part of The Way reach.... (L'Osservatore
Romano, 24-III-50).
This book was first published in 1934, under the title Spiritual Considerations.
Today, some 298 editions have been published, and a total of 3,966,178 copies
in 41 languages have been sold. The languages in which it has been published
include the following: German, Albanese, Armaric (Ethiopia), Arabic, Armenian,
Bahasa (Indonesia), Bulgarian, Spanish, Catalan, Korean, Croatian, Chezk,
Chinese, Danish, Euskera, Eslovenian, Finnish, French, Gallego, Greek, Hebrew,
Hunagrian, English, Italian, Japonese, Lithuanian, Maltes, Polish, Portuguese,

SANTO ROSARIO
A book of meditations on the 15 mysteries of the Holy Rosary that comtemplate
the life of Christ in each mystery.
The first edition was released in 1934. Since then, 110 editions have been
published in 21 languages, with a total sale of 654,599 copies.
THE ABBADESS OF HUELGAS
A penetrating theologic-juridic study of the original documents concerning
the extraordinary quasi-episcopal jurisdiction case carried out by the Abbadess
of the famous monastery of Burgos, Spain.
Three editions have been published, in 1944, 1974 and 1988.
CONVERSATIONS WITH MONSEÑOR ESCRIVÁ DE BALAGUER
A collection of interviews in which Josemaría Escrivá answers
in writing, a series of questions put forward by various newspapers and
magazines from different countries. At the end of this book, a homily given
by Escrivá in 1967, Passionately in Love with the World, has
been included.
The first edition was released in 1968. Since then, 53 editions have been
published in 9 languages. Some 328,500 copies have been sold.
CHRIST IS PASSING BY
This volume contains 18 homilies preached by Josemaría Escrivá.
In the homilies he offers a deep exposition of the Christian doctrine and
life. The Prologue has been written by Alvaro del Portillo, first successor
of Blessed Josemaría.
The first edition appeared in 1973, and since then 76 editions have appeared
on the market, in 13 different languages; a total of 437,061 copies have
since then been sold.
FRIENDS OF GOD
This is another collection of 18 homilies preached by Blessed Josemaría.
This book concentrates on the various Christian virtues and has its essence
the filial relation that Escrivá had with Our Lord Jesus Christ.
The prologue has been written by Alvaro del Portillo.
It made its first appearance in 1977, and to date, 57 editions have been
released in 11 languages. 326,888 copies have been sold.
WAY OF THE CROSS
This is a series of short meditations on the Passion of Our Lord, based
on the personal prayer of Blessed Josemaría.
The first edition was published in 1981. 60 editions have since then been
published in 15 languages. Sales have risen to some 357,559 copies.
IN LOVE WITH THE CHURCH
This book is a collection of 3 meditations centred on the Church and on
the Priesthood. Mons. Alvaro del Portillo includes 2 articles about the
figure of Blessed Josemaría.
From 1986, 13 editions have been published in 8 languages; 41,055 copies
have been sold.
THE FURROW
Just as The Way, The Furrow has been written thanks to the personal prayer
and experience of Blessed Josemaría in dealing with a countless number
of people. It comprises various points upon which you are invited to meditate
on the richness of the christian virtues.
The first edition was published in 1986 and hence Escrivá did not
live to see the final revised version. 50 editions have since then been
published in 13 languages; a total of 363,794 copies have been sold.
THE FORGE
The Forge follows the same format as The Way and The Furrow. It is a
book whose reading and meditation are capable of moving many souls into
the forge of Divine Love, lighting them up with desires of santity and apostolate;
this in fact was the intention with which Josemaría wrote the book
(from the prologue written by Mons. Alvaro del Portillo).
The first edition was released in 1987, and 32 editions have since then
been published in 10 languages; a total of 332,451 copies have been sold.
